'Cross specific training is on. Transitioning from all that climbing to speed flat land power combined with getting the body ready for the repetition of all the cross specific stuff is beginning to take over and take precedence.
On the bike...pedal...off the bike...port...remount...pedal....repeat repeat repeat. I love it. It's like meeting an old friend again you love hanging out with.
What'd y'all do today to get ready for cross?

Indeed that is THE way to spend a day (or part of one) in the saddle, Ken!
Today is the day that I actually managed to dial in the miserable Avid Shorty 4s on my ultra-mongrel CX machine. Lessee . . . 1.5 hours tonight, plus 2 hours last night, plus another hour the night before = waaay too much time. Stop, start, squeeze the lever, cuss, drop the 5mm wrench, try again. The final setup is pretty perverse -- but it works, so hopefully now I can concentrate on actually riding the thing.
I'd submit a pic of my low-budget beastie, but you cats with the sano rides would probably feel compelled to shower or at least apply lots of waterless hand cleaner after seeing it . . . Let's just say that my parts box + the Ebay harlot + a Dremel tool = 1 seriously unholy build kit.
i bought new running shoes yesterday to get ready for cross...
and i annoy non-cross people by talking about it non-stop...
oh and i'm trying to push, nudge coerce the rest or the team to agree on doing a weekly training circuit...
So Greg, when's your first race scheduled?
Ha! You guys are hilarious....and yet scarily....I am you. Dremel tools and running shoes. Who are we???
Gewilli, the secret underground Boulder throw downs are happening already. The 'legal' racing begins September 15 in Breckenridge at 10,000 feet. My boys Tim F and Jared R are going to dial in some nice courses for us, aren't you T an J??
