Indoor CycloBraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaap!

Now why in the WORLD are we not doing that here in the states?? Especially in wintry places like CO and New England where it would be rad to see some races put on inside small arenas. Think about it: "Raaaaaaaaaaaace fans! Sunday! SUNDAY! Arena-cross!" Yeah, the logistics of bringing in a bunch of dirt and building fly overs may be tough, but if the Flemish can do it...c'mon! I recall the Flanders Indoor CX event launching last year and probably posted something on it (and from what I hear, it's total exhibition with the winner, uh, 'known' well in advance of the race.

Reading about last night's race (actually it's a series of heats contested in a main event....motocross style), it is AWESOME to see the show these guys put on. It reminds me of how I like to ride short track....with a little bit of flair you normally just don't get to do in a cross race! Rad to see.

Hmm, I gotta talk to Chris....

Check it.

I got to ride in the Fidea team car last year trailing one of their pre-worlds training rides. That kid Meussen , U-23 Belgie champ, was boosting every curb, level crossing, etc. Pulling nearly perfect tabletops. It was crazy, he was on a CX bike with road tires. He told me he came up MTB and BMXing. No duh.

Someone tried to do it in NE: http://cyclocrossnewsnet.blogspot.com/2007/08/indoor-cyclocross.html
but it ended up getting nixed due to lack of funds. They put on an awesome outdoor race, so I'd imagine the indoor would be just as top notch.
crossnut.com if that link doesn't work.

Dugastic:
Awesome handle. You're geeked out more than I am.

Jason:
In fact I saw that and it I wish they got that thing going. Say hello to Gully for us.

Not that I wanted to notice, but I checked out those picks, and it looks like Nys wet himself. I guess this was one exciting race.

They used to run indoor BMX over in Longmont at the fairgrounds in one of the buildings. I'd go watch some of my dirt-jumping bros over there and the track was probably rideable on a cross bike.
