This old man can't get 'er done without the gracious help of some fantastic companies who seem to believe in me as much as I believe in their products and services. Ridley is Belgium. Vervecken, Wellens, Sven Vantourenhout...the majority of the podium-placers weekend in and out in the Motherland are on Ridley. There can not be 'some' coincidence. Who's the big 'S'?? SRAM! All my 'cross bikes are SRAM-powered, using both Red and Force component groups to get me through the mud without a missed shift every time.

Mike Ahrens is like a brother to me. When I lived in CA, he was one of the first people I met, and was a sprite young engineer recently graduated from Santa Clara with an engineering degree. His passion for bikes....and the engineering that goes into them...is unparalleled. Ahrens bikes range from mountain to cross to road with all sorts of nuances in between. His specialty is in intricately crafted CNC'd parts (yokes, lugs, etc) which well known frame builders now OEM from him. Oh my God. Sidi. I ponder why anyone uses other brands. wide feet, narrow feet...they have a size for you. I am an owner of 11 retail-purchased pairs of Sidi Dragon SRS and Ergo1 works of art. All white (of course) and the single most bomber shoes I've ever worn. I see race after race buckles and soles disintegrate off peoples feet while mine carry me season after season.

I've been an Oakley fan for time ad infinitum. Optics, style and options are why I choose them....along with the fact they are the only brand that seem to help keep my contacts in my eyes! Others I've used blow them RIGHT off my eye balls. Oakley's coverage are perfect for me I guess. I use a mixture of Radars and Pro M Frames (hingeless) when racing with a variety of lenses depending upon the lighting and conditions. Super easy to change and bomber.

Even when super fit, I am a 6'2", 180lb guy who tends to THRASH equipment. I've broken pawls on hubs, shattered carbon in the past and pop spokes like the best of 'em. I have used FSA's since the 2006 season, now using a mixture of RD-800 and RD-488 wheels, each with a variety of tubular tires glued to them for varied conditions. There is zero reason for me to use any other type of wheel and are cost effective and easily accessible. Lastly, FSA's service group is WORLD CLASS. Near instantaneous feedback for things which is important.
